You don't know what you don't know. Through open, honest conversation, a coach can help you see more clearly the limiting thoughts that are holding you back from your next level of success. Further, the accountability found within your coaching partnership will keep your priorities front and center, driving you towards the big picture goals that matter most to you and help you maintain momentum along the way.
Absolutely! I've worked with clients on company upstarts, branding, creating an online presence and prioritizing their time and resources amidst the challenges of day to day life. Coaching sessions are a great place to spark new, creative ideas and develop solutions for the challenges that you face during professional growth.
I see coaching and mentoring as two sides of the same coin. My goal in working with any client is to help them achieve the best possible quality of life experience - be that in health and fitness, in relationships, or in business. Sometimes that means focusing more on practical goals utilizing proven coaching techniques, other times it means shifting into the supportive and educational role of mentor. Regardless of what type of support my client needs, I am always an advocate for their wellbeing first and foremost.
Typically, yes. I coach from a place of compassion and intuition that is grounded in my own life experiences as a woman and a mother. Furthermore, most of my academic studies and certifications have been specific to women's health and wellness issues. However, all clients are considered on a case-by-case basis, and everyone is encouraged to inquire about services. If I'm not the right fit for your coaching partnership, I may have a colleague who is.
I hold a lifetime certification as a Women's Fitness Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I am an AFPA certified Holistic Health and Wellness Coach. I have obtained hundreds of hours of secondary education credits (focusing on promoting health through nutrition and exercise, and supporting behavior change through coaching partnerships) from the IDEA Health and Fitness Association. I have worked in fitness management for the past decade. Before that I was a founding partner of Central Alabama Christian Fellowship and was a church school administrator. I am also a wife and a mother of six amazing kids (my greatest tutors).
I believe strongly in the need for us all to continue to grow and learn throughout our life span, and look forward to many academic endeavors in the future. At 46 I'm working towards my Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology at Faulkner University. I have a special interest in ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), post-traumatic growth, and positive psychology. I hope to apply to a masters program at Penn State in 2027.
